Bio
Sarah Pater is an artist living in Philadelphia. She received her MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and her BFA from Boston University. Her work has been exhibited at Orgy Park, Brooklyn; Brennan & Griffin, New York; FJORD, Philadelphia; Tiger Strikes Asteroid, Philadelphia; Western Exhibitions, Chicago; 808 Gallery at Boston University, and elsewhere. She has taught at Rhode Island School of Design, Temple University - Tyler School of Art, University of the Arts, and Ursinus College. Her research interests include the history of image-making and the aesthetics of everyday social spaces. Her work has been featured in New American Paintings, and she has been awarded residencies at the Sam & Adele Golden Foundation, Lacawac Biological Field Station, and the Ora Lerman Charitable Trust. Forthcoming awards include the Elizabeth Murray Artist Residency and the Lighthouse Works Fellowship.
